In a solemn ceremony held in the historic building of the Old City Hall, the Mayor of Nesebar Nikolay Dimitrov and his German colleague Knut Kreuch officially sealed their bilateral relations by signing a memorandum of cooperation. The diplomatic initiative was supported by Mrs. Meglena Plugchiva, who played a key mediating role in the process of rapprochement between the two communities.

The document laid a solid foundation for future joint initiatives, covering a wide range of activities - from cultural events and festivals to information and sports exchange. The strategic goal of the agreement is to strengthen partnership ties within the European Union.

During the meeting, Mayor Dimitrov presented Nesebar as a unique tourist center with rich historical heritage. "Our city is living proof of centuries-old cultural interaction - a true maritime rock upon which different civilizations have stepped," he emphasized. Nikolay Dimitrov highlighted the mission of modern inhabitants to preserve the authenticity of cultural monuments.

For his part, the Mayor of Gotha, Knut Kreuch, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. "Nesebar is well-known in Germany for its exceptional tourist potential," he stated. Kreuch reported that their city receives about 1 million tourists annually and shares similar ambitions for international cooperation.

Mrs. Plugchiva described the signing as "the beginning of promising relations between two dynamic communities". She emphasized the importance of direct contacts between local leaders for the development of mutual understanding.

As part of the official visit, the German delegation toured the sights of Old Nesebar - medieval churches, ethnographic and archaeological museums. The visit was accompanied by a rich discussion of future joint projects in tourism, culture, and education.

The memorandum symbolizes not just an administrative agreement, but a true bridge between two European cities with rich history and shared values. It opens new horizons for mutual discovery and cooperation.
