The path in art is difficult, but you must not be afraid of your mistakes — with these words, the Vice-Rector of NATFIZ, Prof. Dr. Penko Gospodinov, addressed the students during the official opening of the new academic year at the university's branch in Burgas. The ceremonial event was marked by the presentation of student record books to the first-year students enrolled in two specialties, and a special greeting was also extended to them by the Deputy Mayor of Burgas, Mihail Nenov.
Among those present at the event was Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven. He offered a blessing to the faculty and the young people, emphasizing in his address the importance of keeping the connection with the Bulgarian language and national culture alive.
This year, the university welcomes a total of 25 first-year students for the 2026/2027 academic year. A significant new addition to the branch's structure is the introduction of the "Animation and Film Design" specialty. The interest in it proved to be high, with all eight available spots being fully filled, and the responsibility for overseeing the training has been entrusted to Prof. Dr. Radostina Neykova.
