Financial status and parliamentary control
The National Assembly began today's plenary session with a focus on the country's current financial state. The caretaker Minister of Finance, Georgi Klisurski, will be heard by the deputies to provide clarity regarding the budget and fiscal stability.
Personnel changes and committees
The agenda includes a vote on the resignation of Katya Paneva from "Democratic Bulgaria" as secretary of the National Assembly and the election of Lyuben Ivanov in her place. The creation of an Ad Hoc Committee for the Rules of Procedure of the 52nd National Assembly is also being discussed.
Friday is traditionally reserved for parliamentary control, including blitz control and answers to questions from ministers.
Rejected proposals for investigative committees
The deputies rejected a series of sharp political proposals:
- The proposal by "Democratic Bulgaria" for a committee regarding the assets and income of Delyan Peevski.
- The request by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) for a committee to investigate the influence of the "Capital" circle and Ivo Prokopiev.
- The proposal by "Vazrazhdane" for a hearing of the Minister of Regional Development regarding the landslide on the Pamporovo-Smolyan road.
