Today marked the beginning of the actual construction of the pedestrian overpasses above the busy roundabout near the Mirage Hotel. The large-scale project, which aims to improve road safety and facilitate traffic in the area, has entered its active phase with the installation of the structures. Due to the serious construction activities, a temporary traffic organization was introduced, which will be in effect for the next ten days.

During this period, from December 12 to 22, drivers will have to comply with the changes on parts of the "Stefan Stambolov" and "Nikola Petkov" boulevards. The restriction will specifically affect the section of "Stefan Stambolov" Blvd. from "Trakia" Street to the roundabout at the Mirage Hotel. It is evident that the equipment is positioned along the boulevard, and workers are already busy with the precise installation of the facilities, which in the future will allow pedestrians to safely cross the busy road.

Project Goal

The construction of the footbridges is part of a larger infrastructure plan for the modernization of the urban environment. The new pedestrian overpasses are expected to reduce the risk of traffic accidents by providing a separate path for people to cross over vehicular traffic.

The tense atmosphere of a construction site can be felt on location, and the noise from the machines echoes in the area. Despite the temporary inconvenience for travelers, the hope is that the final result will justify the efforts by creating a safer and more functional space for all road users.
