Burgas Airport welcomes the summer season 2026 with a rich flight program, new strategic routes and increased frequencies on a number of established lines. Passengers are expected to have access to over 70 direct destinations, which further strengthens the airport's role as a key air gateway to our Southern Black Sea.
Among the most significant highlights for the season is the launch of direct flights to the Italian capital Rome /"Fiumicino"/ from Ryanair. This is happening for the first time in the airport's nearly century-old history. The new line will operate from the beginning of May with a frequency of twice a week – every Friday and Sunday.
In May, the airline is also renewing its flights to Dublin (Ireland), Krakow and Warsaw /"Modlin"/ (Poland) and London /"Luton"/ (UK), and in June – to Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia), Vienna (Austria), Kaunas (Lithuania), Gdansk and Poznan (Poland).
"Wizz Air" also resumes its flight program in May with lines to London /"Luton"/ (UK) and Warsaw (Poland), adding flights to Budapest (Hungary), Gdansk, Katowice and Lublin (Poland) from June. The airline increases frequencies on existing routes and, from July 21, introduces a new direct connection to Radom Airport near Warsaw (Poland).
National carrier "Bulgaria Air" resumes the regular Sofia – Burgas line from the beginning of June with four frequencies a week, and from the end of the month flights will operate daily, providing convenient domestic connections and transfer options.
"Jet2.com" expands its presence with a new route from London /"Gatwick"/ (UK), which will operate twice a week from the beginning of May. The British airline is also resuming its entire flight program with a total of 11 routes to Burgas.
The French market is also expanding with two new direct lines. After a 9-year break, in the second half of May "Transavia France" resumes its flights to Paris /"Orly"/ every Monday, and the low-cost airline "Volotea" opens its first route to Burgas Airport with flights to Lille, which will operate every Wednesday.
Following the successful launch of the Vienna – Burgas line last year, "Austrian Airlines" significantly increases its flight program this summer. Flights start a month earlier – in mid-May – and during the peak summer months will reach five weekly frequencies, providing wide opportunities for connecting flights via the global hub in Vienna (Austria).
"Discover Airlines" resumes direct flights from Frankfurt to Burgas in mid-May with two frequencies a week, and from the beginning of July also resumes the line from Munich (Germany). As part of the Lufthansa Group, the airline also offers many connection options to destinations around the world.
"TUI fly" resumes its flight program at the end of May, increasing frequencies from Hanover (Germany) and adding a new direct line from Frankfurt (Germany) from the beginning of July.
"Eurowings" resumes flights from Stuttgart and Hamburg (Germany) in the second half of May, and from mid-June – also from Dusseldorf and Cologne (Germany). In July, the airline also resumes flights from Salzburg (Austria).
"easyJet" starts its summer program to Burgas at the beginning of June with flights from Manchester (UK) and Berlin (Germany), and in the second half of the month also resumes the line from London /"Gatwick"/ (UK).
Scandinavian routes start gradually from the second half of May with flights from Helsinki (Finland), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Oslo, Trondheim and Bergen (Norway), and at the end of May the resumption of lines from Riga (Latvia) and Tallinn (Estonia) is expected.
The charter program for the summer season is expected to start as early as the first half of May, with the first organized tourists arriving from Poland and the UK. Further strengthening of the Polish market is expected thanks to the expanded flight programs of low-cost airlines, which traditionally supports the tourist flow to the Southern Black Sea.
The aviation environment remains dynamic under the influence of geopolitical factors, fluctuations in fuel prices and operational changes on a global scale. In this context, corrections in flight programs are possible.
The team of "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" AD continues to work actively with airlines and tourism partners for the sustainable development of connectivity and to ensure a stable and successful summer season. Burgas Airport is looking forward to welcoming all passengers with its characteristic high-quality service and will continue to provide a pleasant passenger experience!
