Ministry of Interior Breaks Up Vote-Buying Scheme in Varna: 200,000 Euros and Personal Data Lists Found

Police in Varna have uncovered a large-scale vote-buying scheme ahead of the elections. Four people have been arrested, including a municipal councilor, and 200,000 euros, lists of personal data, and evidence of involvement in electoral crimes have been discovered.

Varna police uncovered an organized criminal group involved in vote buying. During searches of addresses, nearly 200,000 euros were found, distributed in envelopes, along with lists of personal data.

A municipal councilor from Provadia is also participating in the group, announced the acting Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Georgi Kandev. Four people have been arrested, and the pre-trial proceedings are being led by the prosecutor's office in Varna.

Yesterday, 152 people were questioned, for whom there is information that they received money for voting for a specific party. 137 protocols have been drawn up for individuals involved in electoral crimes.
