The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP) is starting the payment of the second tranche of aid in support of students, announced caretaker Minister Hassan Ademov.
The funds are intended for students in grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8, who number around 240,000 nationwide. All children will receive aid of 150 leva (77 euros) in the second tranche. The first, of the same amount, was provided before the new year.
In a situation without an adopted state budget law, the MLSP is looking for mechanisms to support vulnerable groups. The possibilities for supporting the long-term unemployed are through the Operational Program for Human Resources Development, the Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as the youth program “Employment Plus“ with funding from the European Social Fund.
Another program, which is being considered in the National Assembly, is part of the national employment action plan. About 1000 unemployed people will be employed under it to carry out so-called emergency activities.
At the beginning of next month, the program “Employment Without Barriers” will be opened. Regional governors will identify critical infrastructure in each district to create emergency groups.
A mechanism is ready to support individuals with an average monthly income below the poverty line, as well as people with disabilities over 50 percent. The amount of support will be determined additionally, but the total amount of the funds provided is around 31 million euros.
Businesses will be supported by extending the term for applying toll fees. Additional measures are also being discussed, pending the development of fuel prices and the war in the Middle East. All factors will be included in a comprehensive solution, which will be finalized with a decision of the Council of Ministers.
Caretaker Social Minister Hassan Ademov met with representatives of the territorial structures of the MLSP from the North Central region.
