The Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Borislav Gutsanov, will announce today five new places for the accommodation of elderly people, part of the efforts to ensure decent living conditions for the elderly. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP).
The new places will be the result of the minister's efforts to solve the problem of the lack of places in nursing homes and for adults with various difficulties.
The ministry adds that after the discovery of the so-called 'rooms of horrors', Gutsanov began a comprehensive fight to ensure a decent life for the elderly – constant checks in existing social services, termination of the work of illegal facilities, construction of new state-funded accommodation places.
In early November, serious violations were found in a hospice in Chernomorets, including poor hygiene, lack of regulations, missing contracts with medical specialists, and activities that did not meet the requirements for palliative care. The hospice's license was revoked.
