On the occasion of International Black Sea Day, celebrated on October 31st, the "Izgrev 1909" community center is realizing the ninth edition of the "The Sea and the Children" project. The initiative aims to provoke the thoughts of the youngest representatives of society about the future of the unique ecosystem that is the Black Sea.
The children of the city, located on the Black Sea coast, are once again becoming ambassadors of the idea for a cleaner sea. With cards made with a lot of love and rich imagination, they share their care for the sea. Throughout October, students from the primary school named after the saint "St. Kl. Ohridski" have taken part in painting workshops and a workshop for creating posters and cards, which will be presented in a special exhibition. These cards are addressed to their peers from another large Bulgarian city, who will receive a "CARD FROM THE SEA" on the occasion of Black Sea Day.
On October 30th, in the cultural and tourist complex "Chengene Skele", a celebration dedicated to the initiative will be held. The event will be attended by students from "St. Kl. Ohridski", their leaders and special guests. The exhibition "My Black Sea" will also be opened then. The atmosphere in the complex is expected to be lively, filled with children's laughter and creativity, symbolizing hope for the future of the sea.
From October 28th to 31st, the cards from the sea, addressed to the students of SU "Vazrazhdane" in another city, will be exhibited in the Regional Library, a partner of the project. Afterwards, the works will be delivered to their recipients.
On October 31st, on International Black Sea Day, the participants in the project will celebrate the holiday with an art installation located in a landmark place in the city, and an exhibition that will be opened in the Municipality building.
The project is carried out with the support of the Municipality and a company specializing in the production of food products. Media partners of the event are BNR, a local newspaper and a news website.
