The innovative multimedia initiative "Grandma's Dishes" aims to revive traditional Bulgarian culinary culture by documenting regional culinary techniques. The project brings together young professional chefs who recreate forgotten family recipes directly in their authentic environment – their native villages and small towns.
The video series focuses on recipes preserved in the participants' family archives, using original local products. Among the presented dishes are classic regional specialties – Tutmanik from Trun, Rhodope Kachamak with cheese and cracklings, as well as traditional monastery bean soup.
The documentary series relies on authentic ingredients such as homemade dried meat, fenugreek, savory, and white brined cheese, which guarantee maximum proximity to the original recipes. The strategic initiative receives official support from the Ministry of Culture and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The ultimate goal of the project is to spread culinary heritage among the general public through accessible digital channels – YouTube and social platforms, with a distinctly educational message.
