Bulgarian producers mark record growth with the support of Lidl
During a special event in Sofia, Lidl Bulgaria presented impressive data on the development of Bulgarian production. For the period 2023-2025, the chain has generated sales of over 1.6 billion BGN for products from over 300 local suppliers.
"The 136% growth in sales of Bulgarian products shows not just statistics, but a real organic success for our producers," commented Milena Dragijska, CEO of Lidl Bulgaria.
From local market to global recognition
Successful partnerships allow Bulgarian companies to invest in innovations and expand their capacity. Examples include:
- An egg producer that invested 10 million BGN and reported 354% export growth.
- An ice cream mochi producer with a new 8 million euro investment in a factory.
The economic effect in numbers
Lachezar Bogdanov, chief economist at the Institute for Market Economics (IME), emphasized that the economic impact is national. In 38 municipalities, over 10% of those employed in the manufacturing industry work for the chain's partners. This proves that long-term relationships create sustainable jobs and stimulate regional development across the entire country.
