In a solemn ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Minister Georg Georgiev presented official certificates to young Bulgarian diplomats who successfully completed the 19th training course at the Diplomatic Institute. The event was dedicated to the "Dr. Georgi Valkovich" class, which demonstrated high professionalism and readiness for a diplomatic career.
During the official event, the head of the foreign ministry delivered a special message to the young specialists. He emphasized that the diplomatic profession requires not only theoretical knowledge but also exceptional dedication, emotional resilience, and a deep understanding of national interests.
Minister Georgiev highlighted the historical context of the Bulgarian diplomatic service, which has a 146-year tradition of protecting state interests both within the country and beyond its borders. He extended sincere wishes for future professional success to the young diplomats.
Diplomatic Institute Director Tanya Mihaylova added to the professional perspective by emphasizing the importance of teamwork and mutual trust. She underscored the exceptional professionalism demonstrated by the course participants over the past months.
The ceremony was honored by high-ranking officials, including Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov, Permanent Secretary Ivan Kondov, as well as numerous directors, ambassadors, and experts from the diplomatic corps.
As part of the training program, the intern attachés are set to undergo a one-month practical internship at Bulgarian diplomatic missions abroad. Additionally, they visited the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA), where Director General Kiril Valchev presented the activities of national press clubs.
Tanya Mihaylova further emphasized the historical connection between BTA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting that the agency was initially part of the foreign ministry system. This tradition continues to this day, with special meetings and visits organized each year on the eve of Diplomatic Service Day (July 19).
