"Yes, Bulgaria" has received reports from its local branches of pressure and attempts to control the vote in the Burgas region, party co-chair Ivaylo Mirchev said. Similar reports have come from Lovech, Dobrich and Stara Zagora.
Mirchev said the pressure comes from businessmen close to the government. He spoke on Revivers' Day, after voting in the presidential election.
He said the best way to mark the holiday is for alert citizens to vote without fear or worry, according to their own beliefs.
Mirchev said he voted for a free, European and democratic Bulgaria. The president he wants must put the national interest first, must not bow to dictators, must not keep a low profile and must call things by their real names.
Mirchev claimed his opponents ran their campaign on lies and want to rule by dividing people. This must stop, he said, and Bulgaria needs a pro-European president.
