The Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) is starting the phased implementation of a national model for technological transfer, aimed at improving the link between science and business.
The main goal is to facilitate business access to scientific research, laboratory infrastructure and innovation services, as well as to accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements into market-applicable solutions.
The implementation of the model will be carried out through two procedures under the Program “Scientific Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Intelligent Transformation“ (SRIIDT).
First procedure:
- Budget of nearly 6 million BGN.
- Investments in Sofia Tech Park:
- Construction of a national hub for coordination and commercialization of the results of scientific research.
- Training and specialized services for businesses in the field of technology transfer.
- “Proof of Concept“ (PoC) program to accelerate the transition from scientific developments to market applications.
- Creation of a technology exchange.
Second procedure (next year):
- Budget of 12 million BGN.
- Creation of regional technology transfer offices.
- The regional offices will be part of the ecosystem in universities and scientific organizations.
- The goal is to help local companies use more scientific research.
The Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth, Martin Danovski, announced the creation of the model in September at the VII Monitoring Committee of SRIIDT.
