Achieving future success requires the combined efforts of state institutions, sports federations, and clubs, stated Minister of Youth and Sports Encho Keryazov. During a meeting with the President of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Roko Sikirić, the excellent partnership between the ministry and the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation was highlighted, with both sides agreeing that their joint work should continue in the same spirit.
An important part of the discussion focused on Bulgaria hosting the European Championship, as well as discussing plans for the development of volleyball. Roko Sikirić expressed his appreciation for the professionalism of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, led by Lyubomir Ganev, and for the high quality of the conditions the country offers for the championship. "Bulgaria has always had strong volleyball teams, but the current generation of boys is truly unique. They are extremely talented. I have already been to the arena, and the atmosphere is great," the CEV President noted.
Minister Encho Keryazov emphasized the long-standing, proven experience of the national federation in preparing for major international forums. "It is extremely important to host such championships in Bulgaria. When children see their idols up close, it inspires them to play sports and get into the gym. At the same time, hosting gives us the opportunity to showcase our country to the world and prove that we can organize events at the highest level," he added.
In addition to current issues regarding the organization of the European Championship, the conversation also covered prospects for beach volleyball. Concrete opportunities for its wider promotion in our country were discussed.
