The Council of Ministers approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the government and “EnduroSat“ for the implementation of the priority investment project “Development Space Center“. With today's decision, an interdepartmental working group is also created to provide institutional support in the implementation of the investment, the press center of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth (MIG) announced.

The new development space center is equipped with advanced machines and modern technologies for the development of a new class of satellites. The company's investment is nearly 11 million euros, and the new highly qualified jobs - 50.

The investment project is an ambitious initiative aimed at significantly expanding the company's development capacity, which is a leader in space technologies. The implementation of the project will contribute to strengthening the space sector in Bulgaria and will create new opportunities for highly qualified specialists in the field of space technologies, the MIG states.

All developments are intended for export, with the main markets being the EU, USA, Japan, etc.

The MIG recalls that priority is given to investment projects that are particularly significant for economic development or for the regions of the country, in accordance with the Investment Promotion Act.

In an interview with BTA at the end of December, Tomislav Donchev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth in resignation, said that Bulgaria should strive to multiply the capacity that has already been accumulated in areas such as space, drones, robots, mechatronics, optics, electronics, etc. In this regard, he added that the cabinet has planned for Bulgaria to deploy nano- and micro-satellites in orbit by 2027, for which funds have been secured.
