Medical Aid After the Sofia Protest: 22 Ambulance Calls, 10 People in Hospital

A spokesperson for the Emergency Medical Services reported 22 ambulance calls and 10 people transported to hospitals following the protest in Sofia. The protest was organized by PP-DB and passed through key locations in the capital.

There were no seriously injured people or people in life-threatening condition following yesterday's protest in Sofia. This was stated to BTA by the spokesperson of the Emergency Medical Assistance Center, Katya Sungarska.

The ambulances made 22 runs during the protest. 11 ambulances were on the ground, and three were in mobilization, and it was later necessary for them to join. 

Ten people were transported to hospitals for consultation, Sungarska also pointed out. Nine people were examined and left on the spot, medical assistance was provided to those who needed it.

Six people were not found at the location from which the signal was sent, added the spokesperson for Emergency Medical Assistance in Sofia. 

The protest in Sofia filled the square in front of the Presidency, the National Assembly, and the Council of Ministers yesterday. Citizens protested against the draft budget for 2026 in Sofia and other cities in the country. The organizers of the discontent were from "We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), and the reason – the refusal of the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, to have the draft budget for next year already submitted to parliament withdrawn. In the late hours in the capital, there was also unrest.
