A 33-year-old man was detained for throwing packages of cannabis in the Sea Garden of Burgas while trying to avoid a police check, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Burgas announced.
Officers of the Fifth Police Station – Burgas saw a driver of an individual electric vehicle on 24th Chernomorski Infantry Regiment Street, who, as soon as he noticed the police patrol, abruptly changed his direction of travel towards the Sea Garden. The officers followed the driver, who headed along the alley leading to Chernomorski Solnitsi AD. Before the turn-off to a hotel located in the Sea Garden, the police saw the man throw a black package, after which he turned and stopped in front of the hotel entrance. Upon inspection of the scene, another package was found next to the detainee. During a subsequent inspection of the area, another five packages were found, each containing balls of green herbal matter, identified as cannabis.
The man has a criminal record. He has been detained for up to 24 hours, and a pre-trial proceeding has been initiated in the case.
