Massive inspections by the Ministry of Tourism and the CPC
The Ministry of Tourism and the Commission for Consumer Protection (CPC) have joined forces in a large-scale inspection campaign along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. In just one week, numerous inspections were carried out on beach strips, establishments, and commercial sites.
"Control is not an action against the tourism industry, but a tool to protect fair business," emphasized the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ilin Dimitrov.
Main results of the inspections:
- 97 inspections of guarded beaches and 2 of unguarded ones carried out by the Ministry of Tourism.
- Over 130 inspections by the CPC of beaches and establishments.
- 11 violations identified, mainly related to incorrect price labeling and the absence of medical personnel.
- Information requested from merchants regarding the justification of prices for umbrellas and sun loungers.
The goal of the institutions is to guarantee a secure environment for tourists and to maintain Bulgaria's high image as a tourist destination.
