An unprecedented air offensive shook the Ukrainian territory during the night of July 7, when Russian military launched an impressive 530 unmanned aerial vehicles and dozens of missiles at strategic sites.
The epicenter of the attack was the capital Kyiv, but several other important urban centers were also affected. In the port city of Odesa, combat drones delivered a crushing blow, killing one civilian and causing powerful explosions that prompted local authorities to immediately call on the population to seek shelter.
Damage was spread across several administrative regions: in Sumy region, two people were killed and two others were wounded, in Kherson region there was one killed and two injured, in Odesa region – one fatality. Kharkiv region was particularly hard-hit with 27 injured, and in Dnipropetrovsk region, five people were affected.
In the capital, the drones caused material damage to the building stock, but without human casualties. Particularly notable was the strike in Kremenchuk, where a Russian unmanned vehicle destroyed a military recruitment center, causing significant destruction.
Ukrainian air defense managed to intercept a significant portion of the attacking means, but the attack clearly demonstrated the Russian military leadership's strategy of systematically exhausting Ukrainian defensive capabilities.
