The runway at Sofia Airport “Vasil Levski” will be closed on February 23 between 03:15 a.m. and 4:50 a.m. and on February 24 between 03:05 a.m. and 5:35 a.m. for regular maintenance of manholes near it. This was announced by the press center of the airport for BTA.
The schedule of the repair work is in accordance with the fact that there are no scheduled regular departing or landing flights at that time.
The repair is not related to the presence of US military aircraft at the airport, but is in implementation of international airport regulations, the press center emphasized.
Aircraft of the US Air Force are stationed at "Vasil Levski" airport in Sofia, the Ministry of Defense announced in connection with media publications earlier this week.
