On July 16, 2025, around 5:15 PM, a large-scale fire broke out on the outskirts of the town of Vetren, which posed a serious threat to a local fuel storage base. Emergency services were mobilized immediately to prevent a potential environmental and infrastructure catastrophe.

The operational teams included four specialized fire teams from neighboring settlements - Septemvri, Belovo, and Pazardzhik. The fire front initially engulfed extensive dry grass areas and shrub areas, which created an increased risk of rapid spread.

According to official information from the Regional Police Directorate - Pazardzhik, the teams took extremely precise measures to localize and contain the fire. The critical perimeter was quickly secured, which prevented potential expansion towards the fuel installation.

Police representatives emphasized that the actions taken successfully neutralized the potential threat, with the fire being stopped and localized in its initial phase. This prevented possible serious material damage and ecological consequences.

The incident fits into the context of frequent fire events in the Pazardzhik region, where over 30 similar reports were registered in the past week alone. Experts link the frequency of inflammations to extremely dry meteorological conditions and elevated temperatures.

Specialized services continue to monitor the situation and recommend increased caution from the local population when working with open fire and near dry vegetation areas.
