How much does the cost of living in Bulgaria cost in 2026?
New data from the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) reveals the current cost of living expenses in the country. According to the report for the second quarter, the financial burden on households continues to grow.
The necessary net monthly income to support a three-member family reaches 1491 euros, while for a single working person living alone, 828 euros are needed.
Growth of expenses on a quarterly and annual basis
The data, presented by CITUB chief economist Lyuboslav Kostov, show the following dynamics:
- Quarterly growth: An increase of 1.3%, which equals 18 euros more for a three-member family and 10 euros for a single working person.
- Annual growth: An increase of 6.1%, or 84 euros more for a family and 48 euros for individual support compared to the same period last year.
These figures highlight the ongoing inflationary trend and the need for adequate measures to support the incomes of Bulgarian citizens.
