Today, the meetings of President Iliana Iotova with potential candidates for caretaker Prime Minister concluded. A total of five people expressed their willingness to take on this responsibility:
- Andrey Gyurov (Deputy Governor of the BNB): He is ready under clear principles and without hidden conditions.
- Maria Filipova (Deputy Ombudsman): She will accept if the President decides.
- Dimitar Glavchev (Chairman of the National Audit Office): He is ready, as he has been twice before.
- Margarita Nikolova (Deputy Chair of the National Audit Office): She will fulfill her constitutional duties.
- Silvia Kadreva (Deputy Chair of the National Audit Office): She does not shy away from responsibility.
Refused:
- Raya Nazaryan (Chair of the National Assembly): She believes that a political figure should not be Prime Minister.
- Dimitar Radev (Governor of the BNB): It would be a violation of the law.
- Petar Chobanov (Deputy Governor of the BNB): He is not needed in this role.
- Radoslav Milenkov (Deputy Governor of the BNB): He has many commitments.
- Velislava Delcheva (Ombudsman): The Ombudsman has no place in the executive branch.
The President is to choose a caretaker Prime Minister and schedule elections within two months.
