Sofia. The Sofia Municipal Council (SMC) has made a key decision that will speed up the process of selecting a new servicing bank for the Sofia Municipality. With full unanimity, the local deputies gave Mayor Vasil Terziev a mandate to finalize the procedure, which is of paramount importance for the financial stability and transparency of the city administration.
The vote took place in the middle of the month, and according to municipal councilors, achieving a full quorum for such an important topic is indicative of the council's serious attitude. The decision was supported by all councilors present, which underscores the consensus on the need for a transparent and effective procedure.
The Deputy Chairman of the SMC, Boyko Dimitrov from the We Continue the Change group, expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for their commitment and unanimous support. "I would like to thank the entire Municipal Council for the great attention today, in the middle of the month we managed to gather a quorum, the report was supported absolutely unanimously, this is a very important step to be able to complete the selection of a new servicing bank for the SMC," he stated to the media.

He emphasized the importance of this act as a model for the future work of the SMC. "I want to note that this is an example of a transparent and well-done procedure carried out by the SMC," the Deputy Chairman added.
More than an hour before the vote, the tension in the hall was palpable, but it gradually turned into a constructive dialogue that led to today's unanimous decision. The responsibility for choosing a financial institution is key, as the effective management of municipal funds and serving the needs of citizens depend on it. Granting a full mandate to Mayor Terziev is seen as a vote of confidence in his administration and an opportunity to quickly conclude the process. The new bank selection is expected to bring more favorable conditions and a higher degree of financial security for the municipality, which will positively affect the residents of the city.
