Kiril Milov brings gold to Bulgaria at the European Wrestling Championships in Tirana!

Kiril Milov won the European title in Greco-Roman wrestling (97 kg) at the European Wrestling Championships in Tirana. This is the first gold medal for Bulgaria at the championship and the third European title for Milov.

Kiril Milov brought Bulgaria's first gold at the European Wrestling Championships in Tirana! The Bulgarian triumphed in the 97 kg Greco-Roman style category, defeating Hungarian Alex Szőke in the final.

Milov dominated the final match, scoring an important point at the beginning and controlling the match. His path to gold included convincing victories over Pole Gerard Kurniczak (9:0), Belarusian Kiryl Maskevich (10:0) and German Lucas Lazogianis (8:1).

In the semi-finals, Milov defeated Russian Artur Sargsyan (7:1). This is Milov's third European title in his career, following Budapest 2022 and Bratislava 2025.

Besides Milov's gold, Bulgaria has a silver from Semen Novikov (87 kg) and bronze from Stefan Grigorov (55 kg). The other Bulgarian competitors failed to reach the podium.

Competitions are upcoming for Olga Popova (57 kg) and Bilyana Dudova (62 kg).
