The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) will discuss today the proposal of “Bulgargaz” for a 5.12 percent increase in the price of natural gas for April compared to March, according to the regulator's agenda.

The open meeting will begin at 10:00 AM in the EWRC building. The topic of discussion will be the report regarding the application of the public supplier for approval of the price for the next month, at which “Bulgargaz” will sell natural gas to end suppliers and to persons licensed for the production and transmission of thermal energy.

“Bulgargaz" proposes a price of natural gas for April of 34.27 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh), excluding access prices, transmission, excise duty and VAT.

The regulator approved a price of natural gas for March of 32.60 euros/MWh, excluding access prices, transmission, excise duty and VAT. This means that the price proposed by "Bulgargaz" for April is 5.12 percent higher than that for March.

BTA recalls that as a result of the war in the Middle East, the supply of oil and natural gas is hampered. This led to an increase in the price of April futures of natural gas on the TTF hub in the Netherlands, as well as on the “Gas Hub Balkan”.
