EWRC reviews new gas price proposal
Today, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) is holding an open hearing to discuss the public supplier Bulgargaz's proposal for the price of natural gas in August.
The proposed price per megawatt-hour is 37.36 euros, which represents a decrease of 0.9% compared to the July levels of 37.70 euros.
Where are the supplies for August coming from?
To meet consumer needs, Bulgargaz relies on several main sources:
- Long-term contract with Azerbaijan: These are the main quantities, although they will be more limited due to planned maintenance.
- Chiren gas storage facility: The necessary quantities will be supplemented through extraction from the reservoir.
- Liquefied natural gas (LNG): Imports will take place via Greece, with a portion directed towards injection into the Chiren storage facility in accordance with the Emergency Plan.
It is important to note that the company does not anticipate any deliveries of liquefied fuel via Turkey in August. The regulator's final decision is expected after the discussion procedure concludes.
