Car crash near Pomorie causes traffic disruption on Varna–Burgas highway

Two cars collided around 7:30 PM this evening on the Varna–Burgas highway near Pomorie. No serious injuries reported. Traffic is temporarily restricted.

Around 7:30 PM this evening, a collision between two passenger vehicles occurred on the Varna–Burgas highway near the town of Pomorie. According to initial information, the crash happened in the right lane heading toward Burgas. One of the vehicles entered the emergency lane and struck the other car.

Traffic police and emergency medical teams arrived immediately. Both vehicles have visible material damage—one has serious rear-end damage, while the other has a deformed side door. The cars have been temporarily moved to the roadside, and cones have been placed for warning. Part of the right traffic lane remains blocked, causing delays and short traffic jams.

The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas reported that the causes of the accident are being clarified. One of the main versions is inattention while driving at high speed and failure to maintain a safe distance. The road surface was dry and visibility was good at the time of the incident.

The authorities urge drivers to proceed with increased caution in the area and to follow police instructions.
