The cabinet will consider extra payments to parents whose children did not get a place in a municipal nursery because there were no free spots, the government press office said. Its next meeting will also look at changes to the Public Finance Act linked to these payments.

The payments are set out in two draft decrees. They cover parents of children who had no place in a municipal nursery or in a nursery group at a municipal or state kindergarten. The money is for two periods: 1 November 2025 to 30 April 2026, and 1 July to 31 August 2026.

Ministers will also look at changes to the Fiscal Council and Automatic Corrective Mechanisms Act and to the Civil Aviation Act.

They are due to decide for which peacetime tasks the interior ministry and the health ministry can use military aircraft.

On education, the cabinet will discuss changes to the Ordinance on Inclusive Education. It will also decide on extra transfers to municipal budgets for work under the national programme "Optimising the internal staff structure".

The cabinet is also looking at a plan to take over private land near the village of Lagoshevtsi in Dimovo municipality. The land is needed to build the rail section between Vidin and Medkovets, part of the Vidin–Sofia line.

The government must also approve a draft memorandum on economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia, which will then serve as the basis for talks.
