Regional police officers uncovered another online fraud precedent, which again demonstrates the dangers of digital space. The incident was officially registered on July 11, when the victim filed a crime report.

The mechanism of fraud includes a classic scheme to attract gullible potential victims. The man was initially attracted by an attractive video clip on a popular internet platform, which promised easy additional income through commission trading.

The criminals developed a detailed scenario, according to which the victim had to transfer specific monetary amounts to two bank accounts. The total value of the transferred funds amounts to 3,514 leva, with an incredible recovery of 21,000 leva promised in return.

Communication between the fraudsters and the victim took place entirely through written messages in digital applications. Subsequently, contact was suddenly interrupted, which is a typical method in such criminal schemes.

The police investigation is currently ongoing, and necessary actions are expected to be taken to identify the perpetrators.
