Bulgaria is voting. Today we are electing the new 240 MPs to the 52nd National Assembly. Over 6.5 million people have the right to vote.
14 parties, 10 coalitions and one independent candidate will participate in the elections. In total, there are nearly 12,000 polling stations in the country. 493 polling stations were opened abroad in 55 countries.
In our country, in over 9300 polling stations, it will be possible to vote by machine. For the first time, 100% of all devices with which we will vote were checked. 100 civil servants were engaged in this task. Until now, the practice was to check about one-third of the machines.
For the first time in these elections, there will also be 400 tactile templates to help the visually impaired who wish to exercise their right to vote. They will be distributed among the polling stations for people with disabilities in Sofia, Plovdiv and Blagoevgrad. According to the Union of the Blind, there are the most visually impaired people in these regions.
BNT is following the election day – from 6:55 a.m. to the last analysis on election night. Results from the vote, presented by sociological agencies, will be projected onto the building of public television.
