Doubts regarding the composition of the caretaker cabinet
Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria", expressed concerns regarding the influence of certain economic circles in the new caretaker government. Although the "There Is Such a People" (ITN) party remained out of parliament, Mirchev noted that it retains a presence in the cabinet, which, according to him, is a sign of trust placed in them by President Rumen Radev.
"We need to see if this government will start working and whether the citizens' expectations will be realized, and so far they have not been," commented Mirchev.
He nevertheless emphasized that there are also ministers with proven qualities in the "Radev" cabinet, such as Dimitar Stoyanov (defense) and Atanas Pekanov (deputy prime minister).
DB's position on future actions
- Justice: Bozhidar Bozhanov called on the Minister of Justice to take clear public positions so that his future plans can be evaluated.
- The "Peevski" Commission: Bozhanov defended the idea of a temporary parliamentary committee to investigate the assets of Delyan Peevski.
According to Bozhanov, the institutions that have so far "provided cover" for reports regarding Peevski's wealth are outside the executive branch. Therefore, the National Assembly is the only body that can exercise real control over them.
