An analysis of internet access and usage in the Burgas region in 2025 reveals high penetration in households and a significant increase in daily usage by individuals. Differences between genders, educational levels, and the use of the internet for interaction with the administration and online shopping are examined.

Internet Access in Homes

In 2025, 95.1% of households in the Burgas region have internet access in their homes, which is above the national average (92.8%). An increase of 5.4 percentage points compared to the previous year is noted, placing the region in third place along with the Kardzhali region on this indicator.

Internet Use by Individuals

90.1% of individuals aged between 16 and 74 in the Burgas region use the internet every day or at least once a week. An increase of 8.1 percentage points compared to 2024 is recorded, ranking the region in fourth place.

Gender Differences

Men are more active online (90.3%) than women (90.0%). The activity of men in the region is 3.2 percentage points higher than the national average, and for women - 4.0 percentage points.

Educational Level and Internet Use

33.9% of individuals in the region use the internet to interact with administrative bodies and public institutions, with their relative share increasing by 8.6 percentage points compared to the previous year.

Online Shopping

42.3% of individuals in the Burgas region shop online, with their relative share decreasing by 2.0 percentage points compared to 2024.
