At the National Coordination Center for Road Safety, a unique digital platform developed by experts from the internal department was officially presented. The mapping system was presented by Commissioner Maria Boteva, Deputy Head of "Road Police", together with Chief Commissioner Zachary Vaskov and Georgi Borisov from the "Communication and Information Systems" directorate.
The new electronic resource provides extremely detailed statistical information about traffic accidents. The system visualizes data on the latest 25 accidents and covers information from the past 30 days. Users have powerful filtering capabilities for extracting analytical information from the Ministry of Interior database.
The innovative map allows differentiation of incidents by various criteria - geographical location, time period, and nature of the accident. Each registered road event is marked with a color code that indicates the level of severity - with fatalities, injuries, or without casualties.
The mechanism for updating information is extremely precise. Immediately after completing the initial inspection, Road Police officers enter details about the incident, which are instantly visualized on the official website of the Ministry of Interior.
This digital tool is a key priority in the Ministry of Interior's strategy to reduce road traffic injuries. The database is completely open and accessible to both citizens and interested organizations, which increases transparency and awareness in the field of road safety.
