Burgas hosted the first stop of the national initiative "Days of Innovation in Education", becoming a center for innovation in the field of education.
On September 25, 2025, the "Flora" exhibition center was bustling with activity – teachers, principals, and educational specialists from all over the country, gathered for a series of practical workshops focused on the application of new technologies in the classroom.
The air buzzed with anticipation as participants prepared to immerse themselves in the world of innovative teaching methods, to get acquainted with robotics, to experiment with digital tools, and to touch upon the potential of artificial intelligence.
For many, this was their first encounter with educational robots, promising inspiring demonstrations and practically oriented content.
Focus on Robotics and Games
The program's focus was on robotics and games, stimulating scientific interest. LEGO® Education held a central place, presenting innovative methods such as "Fun Science" for kindergartens.
These methods, based on playing with robots and the practical conduct of scientific experiments, emerged as an innovative approach to early and primary education.
The demonstrations showed how robots stimulate children's curiosity and facilitate the understanding of complex topics, turning the classroom into an interactive laboratory for creativity and experimentation.
Many teachers shared that this was their first time encountering such technologies in the educational process.
Artificial Intelligence in Education
Another key aspect was the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education.
The program included specialized sessions focused not on the question "whether" AI can be implemented in training, but on "how".
Experts demonstrated various applications – from assisting in the creation of teaching materials to personalized electronic assessment.
STEAM methodologies for the seamless integration of AI technologies into the educational process were also discussed.
The goal was to provide teachers with specific ideas and tools to achieve more effective and interactive learning.
Practical Tools and Digital Solutions
The event was strongly focused on specific practices and tools in modern education.
Participants took part in demo sessions presenting free digital solutions such as Canva Education, demonstrating possibilities for visual storytelling and the development of digital skills.
Presentations of interactive methods, supported by leading technology partners (Google, Acer, Samsung, LEGO, Canva, etc.), presented new approaches to teaching, with the main focus remaining on providing easily applicable ideas and tools without commercial pressure.
Two Parallel Programs
The forum offered two parallel programs – one for teachers and principals from kindergartens and another for teachers and principals from primary and secondary schools.
- The morning program (kindergartens) focused on interactive activities for younger children – fun science with LEGO®, robot games, and simple experiments.
- The afternoon program (schools) built upon this with demonstrations of robots in the classroom, presentation skills with modern tools, as well as working with AI and electronic assessment.
This structure allowed each participant to choose a program tailored to their specialization, ensuring maximum benefit and ideas for innovative teaching.
It is important to note that registration for the event closed due to the filling of places.
However, the initiative remains open to journalists and media who wish to cover the event in Burgas.
"Days of Innovation in Education" provides teachers with new ideas and working solutions for modernizing education, and the Burgas session emerged as an inspiring and fruitful event.
The official opening was performed by Valentina Kamalieva, head of the Regional Educational Directorate – Burgas, and Mikhail Nenov, deputy mayor for education of Burgas municipality.
