Safe passage through "Vitinya" tunnel
Following the incident with a fallen fan in the tube of the Hemus motorway in the direction of Varna, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) has assured that passage is completely safe. Inspections show that the main structure of the tunnel and the ventilation system remain unaffected.
The reason for the fall was an external mechanical impact from a truck platform, whose lifting part was activated for no reason, rather than a technical malfunction.
- Institutional response: Teams from the Ministry of Interior and Avtomagistrali EAD promptly cleared the roadway.
- Violations: Three acts were issued to the driver: unsecured cargo, lack of qualification, and manipulated data in the tachograph.
