President Iliana Yotova will hold meetings with the Governor and Deputy Governors of the BNB in connection with the constitutional procedure for appointing a caretaker Prime Minister.

The meetings with representatives of the BNB will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Dimitar Radev. This will be followed by a meeting with Petar Chobanov (12:00 p.m.), Radoslav Milenkov (13:00 p.m.) and Andrey Gyurov (14:30 p.m.).

Meetings are also scheduled with the Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva and the Chairman of the National Audit Office Dimitar Glavchev.

According to the Constitution, after a failure to form a government, the President appoints a caretaker cabinet and schedules elections.

Possible candidates for caretaker Prime Minister are heads of institutions: the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Governor or Deputy Governors of the BNB, the Chairman or Deputy Chairmen of the National Audit Office, the Ombudsman or their deputy.

Iliana Yotova will hold the meetings and then announce the chosen caretaker Prime Minister.

An example from 2025 shows that Rumen Radev also held consultations before announcing elections.
