Security and Stability in the Balkans: The Key Forum

Vice President Iliana Iotova will take part in the significant conference "Towards Shared Regional Security for Peace, Stability and Cooperation in the Balkans and the Black Sea". The event is organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in partnership with the Institute for Economics and International Relations.

The forum focuses on the future of Europe's defense architecture and the common threats facing the EU.

At the center of the discussions will be the need for:

Bulgaria and Leadership in the SEECP

The event is directly linked to the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP). An important highlight is the upcoming Summit on June 10, 2026, which will mark 30 years since the inception of the initiative.

The SEECP remains a leading political format for building trust and good neighborly relations, with Bulgaria proud of its role as the initiator of the platform, established back in 1996 in Sofia.
