In the context of the election campaign, Iliana Iotova commented on the criticism directed at her regarding an individual pardoned at the end of 2022. The Vice President was firm that comprehensive information on the matter had already been provided in the official position of the presidency. She further shared: "I was warned a month ago that my search for consensus would not be met with a response."

Furthermore, the Vice President revealed that she is considering convening a Consultative Council on National Security (CCNS). The need for such a format is dictated by the escalating conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, which, according to Iotova, requires the security services to provide an assessment. "The war in both the Middle East and Ukraine is escalating, and our security services must also state their position," she reasoned to the media.

The initiative for the CCNS was also prompted by the frequent incidents of fires and explosions at ammunition storage facilities. Iliana Iotova made the statement in response to journalists' questions regarding public pressure to convene such a council following a series of explosions at "EMCO" warehouses.
