Football legend "Zlatan Ibrahimovic" has once again grabbed attention with a witty remark – this time directed at "Cristiano Ronaldo". The occasion for his comment was the words of the Portuguese star after his goals against Uzbekistan, when Ronaldo emotionally declared: "I'm back, I'm back!".
"I was a little confused when I heard him say 'I'm back'. Back from where exactly? As far as I know, Cristiano hasn't left the spotlight for a single day. If you score two goals and shout 'I'm back', it sounds like you've disappeared for ten years and suddenly appeared from another planet," commented Ibrahimovic in his typical style.
The Swede emphasized that Ronaldo has constantly been in the center of attention. "Cristiano has been playing, scoring, breaking records, and making headlines the whole time. That's why it made me laugh," he added, implying that the phrase "I'm back" does not correspond to the reality of the Portuguese player's career.
Ibra continued with an even more colorful image: "The football world talks about him every week, defenders are still worried about how to stop him, and stadiums are full of people who want to see him. That doesn't sound like someone who has been absent. Maybe he meant he's back to silence the critics. If so, fine."
In his typical ironic style, Zlatan also made a comparison to the sun: "But for Cristiano Ronaldo to announce that he is back is like the sun announcing that it will rise tomorrow." According to him, the truth is that "players spend their careers trying to reach his level of significance. Even on his quietest days, people still talk more about him than most footballers".
"So when I heard 'I'm back', I thought: Cristiano, my friend... you never left. Everyone else is still trying to catch up," added Ibrahimovic. According to him, the match against Uzbekistan was "created specifically for the Portuguese to score a lot of goals", which further reinforced his impression of Ronaldo's reaction.
Zlatan's comments once again show his ability to combine respect for the big names in football with a sharp sense of humor – and to turn every one of his lines into news.
