The central square "Troykata" in Burgas once again became a vibrant hub of football emotions and hopes, welcoming one of the biggest icons of Bulgarian football – Hristo Stoichkov – for the third time. The excitement from the presence of the world-famous "Kamata," known as "Number 8," was palpable among the crowd of fans and young footballers who filled the space.
The event, dedicated to the youngest fans of the game, was officially opened by Stoichkov and the mayor of the city, Dimitar Nikolov. The two kicked off the "Path to the Stars" tournament, intended for children born up to 2018. The initiative, which enjoys wide support from the Municipality of Burgas, aims to inspire the future generation of Bulgarian football and provide them with the opportunity to feel the spirit of competition.
Six of the leading children's football clubs in the region took part in the tournament. The teams of FC "Burgas Sport," FC "Neftochimik Burgas," FC "Chernomorets Burgas," DFK "Zvezdichka," "Athletic Burgas," and "Burgas 2024" showed their skills and passion for the game, with each team playing three football matches.
The tension of the battles on the field was mixed with the joyful shouts of the audience and parents who watched the performances of the young talents.
After the football clashes, the legendary striker will meet with his fans. A large number of admirers are expected to line up for autographs, photos, and the opportunity to get the book "Hristo Stoichkov. The Story," provided by TriA City Centre. This opportunity for personal contact with one of the most beloved Bulgarian athletes caused true enthusiasm and created a festive atmosphere in the square.
Award Ceremony
The culmination of the football day will be the official award ceremony, scheduled for 3:00 PM. All participants in the tournament will then be honored, and the event will be officially closed, leaving unforgettable memories and hope for the future of football in the seaside city.
