Trempetlika Choir from Burgas with the "Burgas - From Antiquity to Eternity" Award

The "Trempetlika" Folk Choir from the Center for Personal Development Support (CPDS) - Burgas was awarded the prestigious "Burgas - From Antiquity to Eternity" prize at the National Folklore Competition "With the Songs of Zlatka Stavreva" for its contribution to the preservation and popularization of the Bulgarian folklore heritage.

The “Trepetlika” People's Choir of the Municipal Children's Complex - Burgas, with conductor Mrs. Pepa Zapryanova, was honored with the honorary distinction “Burgas – from Antiquity to Eternity” during the fourth edition of the National Folklore Competition “With the Songs of Zlatka Stavreva”. The high recognition is awarded for the proven professionalism and exceptional dedication of the ensemble in the mission of preserving and popularizing Bulgarian folklore.

The event, held on April 17 and 18, 2026, in the Cultural House of the NHC, was officially opened by the Gaidar Orchestra "Mladost" of the Municipal Children's Complex - Burgas, led by maestro Stoyko Georgiev, and brought together performers of folk songs and dances from all over the country, once again emphasizing the importance of the folk song as a guardian of our thousand-year history and national wisdom.

Through their masterful art, the “Trepetlika” choir directly contributes to the affirmation of the competition as a significant cultural tradition that connects the present with the deep roots of the Bulgarian spirit. The award is also an expression of gratitude for the ensemble's contribution to the preservation of folklore memory, which takes generations far back into the centuries. The organizers emphasized that the voices of the performers hold the spiritual strength, transforming folklore into a living bridge between the past and the future.
