Today, against the backdrop of the constant challenges of the modern world, the question of health and longevity is becoming increasingly relevant. What does it mean to be active nowadays? Not just to go to the gym, but to lead a fulfilling life, taking comprehensive care of your body and spirit.

Movement as a Philosophy

As part of the "Future: Lifestyle" project on Bulgaria ON AIR, nutritionist and trainer Radoslava Todorova - Rory, shared her views on the active person of the future. She emphasizes the importance of movement as a sustainable strategy for longevity. "Physical and mental health are one whole," Rory notes. Their separation is not only wrong, but also prevents the achievement of true balance. Through sports and any kind of physical activity, we proactively take care of our brain and psyche, reducing stress and anxiety levels.

The Hybrid Approach: Beyond Fitness

But what distinguishes the active person of the future from just a regular gym-goer? According to Rory, the key is a holistic approach to oneself. "This is the person who manages to take proper care of themselves holistically - through sports, food, sleep... I call it a hybrid approach - in sports and everything outside the gym," she emphasizes. This includes not only training, but also healthy eating, sufficient sleep, and quality communication. The active person realizes that sport is an integral part of their way of life, not just a fleeting whim.

The Influence of Habits

Building proper habits is fundamental for long-term health and well-being. Rory emphasizes that this is a process that requires time and persistence. "The steps are something small every day," she says. The small things in our daily lives - enough sleep, healthy food, water, walks - are of great importance. Equally important is the environment with which we surround ourselves. The people who stimulate us to be the best version of ourselves are essential for achieving our goals.

Longevity with Quality

The goal is not just to live longer, but to live well. "To be active, to take care of ourselves," Rory emphasizes. Visual form is not the only indicator of health. Overdoing training, as well as a lack of balance in everyday life, can have negative consequences. It is important to listen to your body and train first and foremost for health.

Nutritional Balance

The nutritionist emphasizes that unless there is a health problem, there is no reason to exclude food groups from the menu. The body needs the essential macronutrients from all food groups. It is most wrong to remove carbohydrates from the diet.

So, what to do? To integrate movement as a natural part of our lives, to eat consciously, to sleep enough and to surround ourselves with positive people. To strive for the hybrid approach, which encompasses everything - from the gym to our way of thinking.

What will be the next challenge for us on the path to longevity? Let's continue to seek the answers together.
