The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs publicly expressed its solidarity with Georgia on the 17th anniversary of the Russian military occupation in 2008. In an official statement through the "Ex" platform, categorical support for the territorial integrity of the state was emphasized.

The diplomatic department explicitly stated that our country remains a firm defender of the sovereignty of the Georgian state within its internationally recognized borders. Bulgaria's position is unambiguous - full support for the European aspirations of the Georgian people.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze further emphasized the geopolitical significance of Georgia. In a statement to national media, he underscored its unique role as a connecting link between Europe and Asia, particularly important in the current complex international context.

In the context of numerous regional conflicts, Kobakhidze defined Georgia as a "peace island", referring to a recently held UN conference in Turkmenistan. His words further confirm the country's strategic position in the contemporary geopolitical reality.
