A flu epidemic has been declared in Varna starting today. This is the first region in the country where temporary anti-epidemic measures are being introduced due to the spread of influenza and acute respiratory illnesses.

Until January 20th, students in Varna and the region will switch to online learning. All extracurricular and sports activities are suspended.

Visits to hospitals and social institutions are stopped.

Planned surgeries, preventative examinations, childhood immunizations, as well as pediatric and women's consultations are suspended.

It is planned that nurseries and kindergartens will continue to operate under increased medical control, with the mixing of groups prohibited.
