A cargo vehicle caught fire while moving on the Burgas – Varna route, at the exit of Burgas in the direction of Sunny Beach. The incident occurred in the afternoon hours, amidst the heavy traffic towards the northern Black Sea coast.

A fire department team arrived quickly at the scene and is currently extinguishing the vehicle. The fire is mainly localized in the front part, and at this moment there is no information about any injured persons.

Due to the firefighting efforts, traffic in the direction of Varna is being conducted with extreme difficulty. The lanes are partially blocked, and cars are passing slowly by the scene of the incident. A queue of cars has already formed in the area and is gradually growing, with drivers being advised to arm themselves with patience.

Firefighters and experts remind that the main causes for vehicle fires are technical malfunctions in the electrical system, engine overheating, or the improper transport of flammable materials in the cargo hold.

The "Traffic Police" urge drivers not to stop out of curiosity in the emergency lane, to follow the instructions of law enforcement officials, and to reduce speed sufficiently early when approaching the scene of the incident. In such situations, any unnecessary stopping and sudden maneuvers increase the risk of secondary accidents.

Drivers who are planning to travel along the Burgas – Varna route in the coming hours should plan for additional travel time or, if possible, use alternative routes to the settlements along the northern coast. Traffic is expected to gradually normalize after the final extinguishing of the fire and the removal of the damaged vehicle from the road.
