The state has sufficient fuel reserves and is ready to react if necessary, assured Members of Parliament after an extraordinary session in the National Assembly.

The Chairman of the State Agency “State Reserve and Wartime Reserves” (SADRWR) Asen Asenov stated that the country has 85 days of fuel security. The total volume of reserves is 1.7 million tons, of which about 780,141 tons are on the territory of the country, and 222,220 tons are in other EU member states.

The checks confirmed the presence and quality of the fuels. If necessary, reserves from the State Reserve can be released to the market within 5-15 working days, and from abroad - between 15 and 45 days.

Precautionary measures are being discussed in connection with the war in the Middle East, the increased oil prices, and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Negotiations are underway within the G7 for the release of oil reserves.
