Bulgaria's Consul General in Odesa Congratulated Bulgarians in Ukraine on the Occasion of March 3rd

The General Consul of Bulgaria in Odessa, Svetoslav Ivanov, congratulated the Bulgarian community of Odessa, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions on the occasion of the National Day of Bulgaria – March 3rd. The event, organized by the General Consulate in Odessa, included a meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian community, an exhibition of Bulgarian artists, and a cultural program.

Mr. Ivanov emphasized the importance of preserving the Bulgarian language, culture, and traditions, passing them on to future generations. He recalled the historical figures and monuments associated with Bulgaria in Odessa and the region, such as Hristo Botev, Ivan Vazov, and Aleko Konstantinov.

During the event, the role of Bolgrad as a center of the Bessarabian Bulgarians was noted, and significant historical figures associated with the city, such as Alexander Malinov, Dimitar Grekov, and Angel Kanchev, were mentioned. On behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Nadezhda Neynski, Mr. Ivanov wished for peace and the preservation of Bulgarian roots.
