The security guarantees to be provided to Ukraine should be ensured through lasting and comprehensive support from both the European Union (EU) countries and the United States of America (USA). This position was expressed by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov in a post on the social network X, where he emphasized the strategic importance of the coordinated efforts of transatlantic partners to counter the ongoing aggression against the sovereign state.
Videoconference and peace
In his statement, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov noted that today's videoconference, organized within the so-called "Coalition of the Willing", was focused on the critical task of immediately ending the violence and killings. He emphasized the need for support to achieve a lasting and just peace, which should be built entirely on the principles of international law. This formulation highlights Bulgaria's commitment to the rule of law and the condemnation of any attempts to violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, which are fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.
High-level meeting
The "Coalition of the Willing" videoconference, which was attended by key figures from the world political scene, was defined as a crucial preparatory stage before tomorrow's high-level meeting. It aims to coordinate positions and prepare the ground for the upcoming important meeting, which will take place in the Oval Office of the White House. A number of European leaders, as well as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are expected to attend. They will meet with US President Donald Trump, and the talks are expected to focus on the future of support for Kyiv.
